The Kama Bay luxury yacht is a 26 meter expedition yacht. This boat carries tourists around Kama Bay, Phuket, Thailand.
The yacht has a metal hull that blocks mobile signal from entering.
The customer chose the MarineBoost 5.4 repeater system to get mobile signal into the various internal areas of the yacht. This included the cabins and lounge areas.
The omni-directional antenna supplied in the kit was mounted high up on the mast area. This antenna can receive mobile signal 360 DEG around the ship and from several BTS mobile stations on the land at the same time.
LMR400 low loss coaxial cable was discretely installed from this outdoor antenna down inside the ship to the 5 band mobile signal amplifier, screwed to the wall in the control room. Here, the LED signal indicators on the amplifier could be monitored.
From this location cables were installed to the 4 other areas inside the yacht that required mobile signal, principally the cabins and lounge areas, and panel antennas were installed.
The whole installation was carried out by the customer himself. The hardest part of this type install is the laying of the cable. Besides this, it is very easy to install.
