How It Works

StellaOffice – Distributing mobile signal in your office

The StellaOffice is a 4 port commercial grade cellular repeater for providing mobile coverage in large buildings. It has 4 indoor antenna ports which provide coverage for about 5-15 rooms, depending on the size of rooms and wall materials.

This powerful repeater has a simple LED indicator to aid during installation. This repeater is R.E.D compliant and safe on the operator’s network. It also conforms to all  E.T.S.I tests.

Frequency options

The StellaOffice repeater comes with different frequency options.

For rural locations 1,2 or 3 of the lower bands is recommended (ie, 700/ 800/ 900/ 1800MHz). For urban environments, all 5 bands is recommended.

All services are covered: GSM, 3G, 4G, 5G but please check your specific country and operator.

Coverage

The StellaOffice repeater kit contains 4 antennas. Each antenna provides 30X30 m2 of coverage in open space. This provides coverage in 4 separate areas within the building.

However, this is only in open space. In practice,  it  equates to about 5-15 sized rooms in a typical building layout. The coverage depends on the type of walls inside the building.

Concrete or metal insulated walls will reduce the coverage, whereas plaster board walls and  wide open internal spaces allow an increase in coverage.

Expand coverage with LineAmps:

You can connect LineAmps up to 100m after the StellaOffice repeater. LineAmps boost the signal another 20dB and this allows the signal to be propagated deep into the building. Typically four LineAmps are installed after the repeater is a star configuration. However this can be increased to eight LineAmps or more with the use of splitters. See diagram below.

Lineamps must never be daisy chained one after the other.

The diagram below illustrates recommended cable lengths for when splitters are used and not used. Please contact us to find out more about this modular system.

Installation

1 – external antenna

3 – internal antenna

A “loose” installation is recommended to begin with. This will allow for testing of the system before securing everything into place.

  1. Install the outdoor antenna in a location where there is good mobile signal. (usually this is the roof).
  2. Attach the 15m cable from this antenna, down inside the building to the StellaOffice repeater.
  3. Then attach 1-4 cables to each of the  ports of the repeater.
  4. Cable from these ports to 4 locations inside the building that require coverage.
  5. Plug in the power supply.
