How can I improve my mobile phone signal?

The answer is, you need to install a StellaHome Repeater kit made by Stella Doradus.

Who are Stella Doradus?

Stella Doradus have been in the business of designing, manufacturing and marketing 2, 3 & 4G signal enhancement kits  for over 25 years. Our repeaters are suitable for use with all mobile phones and operators, and they enhance the signal for phones and devices such as tablets, laptops etc. However it is important that you select the right signal repeater for your particular situation.

The first thing that you need to check is if there is any signal in your location at all. The simplest way to do this is by using your mobile phone’s signal strength indicator. Just walk around the outside of your property with your phone and check the indicator bars. If you have at least one bar you’re good to go. That means you probably have 2 bars up on your roof and that’s all a repeater kit needs.

For a broad picture of the signal strength in your general area, visit this site(UK only). Bear in mind that the signal strengths of the various network providers may vary in any one area. Some will be stronger than others, some will be weaker and some may by non-existent. It is worthwhile checking these maps even before you choose which operator to go with. Few people do this however as we assume getting signal won’t be a problem.

Why Choose a StellaHome Repeater Kit

• It works with all mobile phone types.
• It is compatible with all network providers.
• It works for any number of mobiles and devices in the home.
• It is simple to install.
• It is the best value for money in its class.

You can configure your StellaHome Repeater Kit to boost different types of signal. Here is the background on the different signal types and what they do:

GSM Frequency Bands – voice only

Using the UK as an example:

Two UK mobile phone networks (T-Mobile and Orange) use a standard known as GSM1800. This uses a frequency of about 1800MHz.
Two UK mobile phone networks (O2 and Vodafone) use a standard known as GSM900. This uses a frequency of about 900MHz.

3G Frequency Bands – Voice and data

All operators use 3G.

Single band – 3G/UMTS – 1.92 to 2.17GHz

You may be wondering why do the mobile operators bother with GSM at all considering that 3G does both voice and data. There are 2 reasons for this:

1) Older model phones cannot receive 3G; only new smart phones can.

2) GSM is far better at reaching those poor signal areas.

The StellaHome Repeater Kit can be configured to boost:

1) Only the GSM voice signal.

2) Only the 3G signal.

3) Both(dualband).

The dualband repeater is a bit more expensive so if you’re really only concerned about getting a great voice signal in the house, then a single band GSM version is better for you.
